2013 March 29, Friday

Busy Day!  It's Katie's turn today at preschool to fill up her class bucket with items starting with the first letter of her name.  So Karen and Katie found a kimono, a kaleidoscope  a kitten, a key, a knife (plastic), and ketchup!  Below Katie is holding up her bucket and her kimono which was a gift from Alicia Wright, who was stationed with us at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey.

Then after school, she really got her imagination going.  She was busy going in and out of the kitchen and outside.  Then came and grabbed us sayings, "Guys! Guys! You have to come quick! Follow me! You have have to come the Easter Bunny was here and he left all these eggs! We have to to go on an Easter Egg Hunt!" Worn out after a weekend visiting her cousin Reagan Hooper.  The weekend was such a whirlwind I really didn't get any good pictures of Katie and Reagan together.   Looks like Katie took her ukulele to bed with her.  Maybe she will be like her Dad.  I spent way too many night up playing guitar when I wasn't supposed to.  Rancho Penasquitos, San Diego, California, 2013-3-24, 9:00 PM.

I got home late and Katie was already asleep.  She took her Horsey to bed and when I checked on her she had made a little camp fire for her and Horsey. Her trusty Pink Blanket and Warm Blanket are still by her side. I got to walk Katie to daycare today. Sitting at her "Writing Center" as she has named it.  This is a desk Grandpa Dwyer bought her that she has been using a lot to draw on.  Tonight she set up her paper and crayons and said, "This is my writing center."  Then she went in the bathroom and got out a fairly large basket made out of sea shells that we keep bath tub toys in but is now empty.  She picked it up and was carrying it to her Writing Center when Karen asked what she thought she was going to do with that, Katie said, "Mom, it's empty and I am going to reuse it to put by my desk and put my winter things in.  My winter drawings."  Then she made a book about Frosty and put it in the basket.  Rancho Penasquitos, San Diego, California, 2013-03-20, 6:00 PM.

2013 March 9, Saturday (First Sled Ride, Snow Angel, & Snow Man)

Karen had a great idea to go up to Mount Laguna 5,000 feet in the mountains and find snow.  We found 6-12 inches of it!  Katie absolutely loved it.  This is the first snowman Katie ever made when we just found the snow after getting off Interstate 8.  Deeper snow was just ahead.

We found a great hill for sledding.  This was her first trip down.  We got going pretty fast down a hill that went about 30-50 yards.  Mount Laguna, California, 2013-3-9, 3:00 PM.

The first official Dwyer Game Night.  We are going to try to do this on Friday's when we can.  Tonight we played Pop A Pig and Uno Moo, which is a kid's version of Uno played with a barn and farm animals.  After we finished Katie got out her Fisher Price barn, combined the pieces from both games and made some game up all her own that all seemed to win at.  A great night!  Rancho Penasquitos, San Diego, California, 2013-3-8,  8:00 PM.

Katie was given a special pin today for finishing more than ten projects!  Katie was the only kid there who's apron said "MI NOMBRE ES KATIE"  in Spanish.  That's what the gave her in Del Rio, Texas, and she wears it proudly today.
